Jiu Jik (issue 976) reported that Smart Education participated in the Education & Careers Expo 2012, organized by HKTDC, which was held from Feb 9 to Feb 12, 2012. Most of the candidates who will be sitting for the first HKDSE and last HKALE have started to plan for their future. Many are worried about what their future holds. Smart Education introduced TOEIC® Tests and other related information to prepare students for their academic and career paths.
Since July 2011, Smart Education has become the Educational Testing Service’s (ETS) official representative of TOEIC® tests in Hong Kong and Macau. TOEIC® is the Test of English for International Communication, and the global standard for workplace English-language assessment. TOEIC® is being used by over 10,000 organizations in 120 countries as their recruitment, training and promoting requirements. Furthermore, in April 2011, the U.K. Border Agency announced that persons from around the world wishing to work, study, or settle in the United Kingdom may use the TOEIC® tests to demonstrate their English proficiency for all visas under the United Kingdom’s points-based system. More than 6 million TOEIC® tests were administered in 2010.
