Oriental Daily and The Sun (21 Mar 2013) reported that the test volume of TOEIC® has significantly been increasing in the past two years. More and more secondary school students take the TOEIC® tests before the HKDSE (Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education) Examination. As many education institutions and international companies require candidates to demonstrate their English proficiency, the TOEIC® tests – the globally recognized assessment are widely adopted for those who want to further their studies or to succeed in their career. In Hong Kong, more than 70 secondary schools have arranged workplace English courses for students and they are required to take the TOEIC® tests in the spring semester.
