Smart Education is delighted to announce that its AI-powered English learning platform, “MyAIBuddy,” has officially been recognized by the Education Bureau (EDB) and included in the second batch of the Quality Education Fund (QEF) e‑Learning Ancillary Facilities Programme (eLAFP).
The programme was published in EDB Circular No. 3/2026, confirming that all publicly funded schools in Hong Kong are now eligible to subscribe to MyAIBuddy through either the Subscription Voucher Subsidy Scheme or the “EdTech Launch” funding initiative provided under the QEF.

Promoting a New Model of AI‑Driven English Learning
The MyAIBuddy platform integrates artificial intelligence with an interactive virtual learning environment, enabling students to practise English conversation through immersive, contextual scenarios.
With real‑time speech recognition, pronunciation analysis, and AI‑generated feedback, the platform enhances both motivation and communicative confidence.
Key features include:
- Generative AI interactive dialogue environment (simulating real‑life or thematic conversation scenarios)
- Instant speech recognition and rating system (aligned with CEFR international standards)
- Smart performance reports (automatically generate student and class‑level speaking analytics)
- Teacher dashboard with lesson recommendations
Schools Can Now Subscribe with QEF Funding
According to the EDB announcement, schools may submit applications from January 7 to March 10, 2026, and utilize the approved funding to access MyAIBuddy from February 1 to August 31, 2026.
