On November 2, 2023, representatives from Smart Education and the Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students visited HKMU to discuss potential collaborations in fostering academic exchange in the Greater Bay Area and support educational advancement for students.
Established in 1989 by the Hong Kong Government, HKMU initially provided distance education but expanded to offer full-time programs in 2001. Over the years, it has become a leading institution for open and flexible education in the Asia Pacific region. The university's full-time face-to-face programs for secondary school graduates are on par with those offered by other renowned institutions in Hong Kong.
During the visit, representatives from Smart Education and ASJ(Dongguan) held discussions with HKMU's registrar, Ms. Agnes Choi, and senior assistant registrar, Ms. Erika Lee. The focus was on exploring collaboration opportunities, particularly in facilitating student exchanges within the region.
A primary objective of this collaboration is to promote student mobility and exchange programs. By developing partnerships between educational institutions, students from different places can gain valuable international experiences. This initiative aligns with the vision of establishing closer connections and cooperation among educational institutions in the Greater Bay Area.
As the Greater Bay Area continues to grow, the demand for talented individuals within the region is expected to increase. Having a deep understanding of the business environment, culture, and language of the area will provide a significant advantage. With this in mind, Smart Education is committed to creating more opportunities for regional students to engage in mutual exchanges, ultimately enhancing their competitiveness.
