Ltd, representatives from local secondary schools, as well as dignitaries from the University. The seminar aimed to educate local secondary schools on language certification and proficiency tests, and to instill motivation among students to enhance their English language skills and obtain recognized language certifications. In alignment with the educational framework and development strategies of the Macao SAR, the government has introduced initiatives within the non-tertiary education sector to support non-profit private schools operating under local academic systems. These initiatives aim to facilitate various educational projects and activities that adhere to the objectives of the Education Fund, fostering holistic development. One such initiative, known as the "School Development Plan - Subsidy Schemes," is designed to provide financial support for non-tertiary education institutions following the local academic curriculum. The scheme aims to incentivize students to pursue language certification and attain professional or technical certificates, thus enhancing their linguistic proficiency, vocational skills, and technical competencies.

Since the TOEFL and TOEIC tests are approved internationally recognized examinations of the language certification scheme, senior secondary school students in Macao are eligible to receive financial assistance for registering for the exams, with subsidies amounting to a maximum of MOP 2,500. Securing an international certification prior to secondary school graduation not only augments students' competitiveness in further academic pursuits and the job market, it also broadens their horizons for future prospects. More information can be found on the Education Funds official website.

UTM is set to be designated as an official TOEFL iBT test service center, commencing its operations in September 2023. Situated at the Pousada de Mong-Há Campus, this examination center strategically enhances accessibility and convenience, catering to the escalating demand from Macao and the Greater Bay Area.

The TOEFL test is globally acknowledged as a premier benchmark for evaluating English language proficiency. Over 8,500 institutions and schools across 130 nations accept TOEFL scores, with a significant emphasis placed by universities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia in considering these scores for admissions.

Conversely, TOEIC serves as an English proficiency assessment for non-native speakers. The attained scores reflect the individual's aptitude in English communication and fluency. Globally, more than 7 million individuals and over 14,000 organizations, educational institutions, or governmental bodies acknowledge the credibility of TOEIC scores.

The IEPD actively aligns itself with the talent development framework outlined by the Macao SAR government, offering specialized training programs and internationally accredited courses and assessments to residents and working professionals. These courses span various disciplines, encompassing hotels, cultural tourism, exhibitions, high-end services, catering, creative arts, information technology, leisure and sports, language studies, management, and finance, among others. These courses are designed to equip students with the essential skills, elevate their professional proficiencies, and contribute significantly to the cultivation of exemplary talents within Macao.
