First TOEFL YSS Writing Test in Hong Kong Successfully Conducted: Assessing Students' English Output Abilities
On October 14, 2023, almost five hundred candidates participated in the first TOEFL YSS (Young Students Series) Writing Test held in Hong Kong. The test includes TOEFL Junior & TOEFL Primary and attracted candidates from different schools and educational backgrounds. Candidates took the test in multiple venues, assessing their English output proficiency with the internationally recognized standards of TOEFL.
In August 2023, Smart Education, the official representative of TOEFL tests in the Hong Kong and Macau regions, announced the launch of the TOEFL YSS Writing Test and opened registration for candidates. We are very excited to receive very positive feedback from students and parents. The test assessed students' ability to write English in a computer-based format. In other words, the TOEFL YSS exam covered the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, providing a comprehensive evaluation of students' English proficiency in accordance with international standards. This allows students to equip themselves early for the future. The exam has attracted great interest from primary and secondary school students and their parents, as they continue to expect the TOEFL examination to further assess students' English proficiency, including their English output skills.
